In my last post we discussed taking a stand.  Standing up for ourselves and the little woman or man.  This week we add a poem that spurs our courage, to remember we never really need to be discouraged.  For all of us that have great dreams, we will not be squashed by anyone’s schemes.  This one is for you, the light of a thousand stars, in the hopes that you always remember who you are. xo

Got to stand up,
can’t sit in.
Don’t know how we got in the mess we’re in.
Got to wake up
and do what’s right,
It doesn’t have to be a fight.
If not me, then who?
If not we, then two.
Together it is or else we may fall,
we are the ones with the power after all.
Brave in the heart is where it begins,
awareness of mind, conscious friends.
Talks of meaning, actions strong
in my gut, this is where I belong.
If you see injustice or harm to the small,
you must run, do not crawl.
Got to stand up,
can’t sit in
must move forward from this place we’re in.
It takes a group to rile the crowd,
it takes courage to speak out loud.
Open a stand, make a donation
give those speaking up a standing ovation.
Make a film, march down a street
there’ll be others there, that soon you’ll meet.
Write a letter, make some calls
you are the difference maker after all.
Got to stand up,
Can’t sit in
your strength is needed,
you just have to begin.
