Driving home recently from a difficult appointment, I found myself in need of nurturing. My car drove as if on autopilot to the ocean. I sat, windows rolled down, breathing in the salty air, wind across my face; it soothed me. I had a quick conversation with my husband, and unconsciously started to sing lyrics to a song that brings me peace. I pulled it up on YouTube, and sang along as I drove home. Almost immediately it lifted my spirit.
You got this.
This week on my Mastermind call, one my clients has begun using more supportive language with herself. It’s shaping her experience. I’m witnessing transformation not only of her, but the shaping of her circumstances, right before my eyes. I’m astounded how quickly she is evolving and noticing the language she is using to guide herself from one place to the next. We do not realize the power of our language. Self-defeating thoughts and language can be insurmountable obstacles if we do not get in the driver’s seat.
Hey you, yeah you.
Last night I watched a YouTube talk a friend recommended. Jason Silva spoke of how our souls need us right now, how so many of the challenges people are experiencing are because their souls need attention. This may sound woo woo to some, but please allow me to remind you, we are human beings, emphasis on the being. So, if this is true, and our spirit needs our attention, how do we do that? I start my day with a special meditation from a friend. Not only does it center me on the things that really matter, but it gives me a platform from which to leap. I notice a difference on the days I do the meditation upon waking, and the days I don’t. Otherwise we wake up and get caught up in the things and people, we spring to others’ agendas, instead of our own.
Danger Will Robinson!
Things that are going on in our life can completely take us over, if we allow them. We can be hijacked quite easily from old outdated software and programming. Our brain is the computer, and we must remember that we are the master programmer. No matter what the circumstances are, we have the ability to choose which angle to see it from, decide how we want to approach it, and the state in which we interact. And if nothing else, remember a nurturing question a dear friend once gave me, “How do you want it to feel?” Minds running unconsciously can wreak havoc and cause extended issues. The bottom line is, I agree wholeheartedly with Jason Silva, we need us. As much as others need us, we need us more than ever.
And what do you want?
We ask this question time and again. What is the outcome you are seeking in any situation? What does your spirit need? Direct your brain to go there. Begin with the end in mind. Build it and they will come. You get what I’m saying, don’t you? Make a pact to learn to trust yourself again and have faith that everything is working out in your favor. Just saying that brings a smile to my face and fills my heart with optimism. And suddenly, I realize this is how easily I can nurture my spirit. How can you nurture yours?
